Caroline Lovejoy and Veronica Kamerling are running a Carers’ Workshop for carers or people with eating disorders. This workshop will be interactive with a strong emphasis on:   “Taking Care of Yourself”.  You can read biographies for Caroline and Veronica here (document opens in a new window in PDF format).

Looking after someone with an eating disorder can be very challenging for families and without the skills needed to do this, can bring on feelings of despair and isolation. This is why Caroline and Veronica believe it is crucial that carers are introduced to the skills that will help them in achieving the best possible outcome for those they are looking after and to be able to survive the process!

Having these skills can enable carers to work more collaboratively with the professionals involved and research has shown that collaborative care makes for better recovery. Caroline and Veronica have found that carers attending their workshops benefit enormously from the support of their fellow attendees both during and, in some cases, after the day itself.

Caroline is a very inspiring and exciting person to work with and she has a dynamic approach to running workshops along with a whole host of very valuable techniques and ideas.

Veronica has 2 daughters who suffered with an eating disorder and her personal view is that  “Taking Care of Yourself” is very important. This workshop will hopefully leave you feeling empowered to do just that, along with gaining other useful information. Details of what Veronica does can be found on her website www.eatingdisordersandcarers.co.uk.
