Lunch Group for Carers of People with Dementia

Table of food, being shared

KCN runs a monthly lunch support group to give carers of people with dementia the chance to meet informally with others in a similar situation to themselves. It is an opportunity for peer support and to share experiences, information and expertise in a safe and non-judgemental space. The group occasionally invites professionals to come to the lunches to talk about their work and local services.

The lunch group meets once a month on a weekday from 12.00pm to 2.00pm at different venues in the Kingston area. In order to offer opportunity and variety to carers, the date and venue are arranged in advance month to month at either a local restaurant, cafe or pub. Carers are usually offered a two course meal and a drink and make a £5 cash contribution on the day. Bookings are made via e-mail invitation for carers who have registered and consented to receive information about the dementia carers' support group. Carers can contact the office by email or by calling 020 3031 2757 to give consent to receive the e-mail invitation if they have not already done so.

Alternatively, you can sign up to reminders online.
