Strawberry Hill House is internationally famous as Britain’s finest example of Georgian Gothic Revival architecture. It was created by Horace Walpole in 1747. He created a ‘little Gothic castle’ with pinnacles, battlements and a round tower. He also
created a romantic five-acre garden which has been, as far as possible, restored to its original appearance. It is Grade II listed and of national importance as a reminder of a fascinating period in garden history.
