Male Carers Group – Connect, Share, and Take a Break
Many of our male carers have told us they’d value the chance to connect with others in a similar role—so we’ve launched a dedicated group just for male carers, offering both online and in-person meetups.
Our regular online social meetings provide a relaxed space to chat with fellow carers and enjoy a mix of fun and informative activities, including quizzes, member-led presentations, and advice sessions.
We also organise in-person events, such as walks, lunches, pub visits, and more. Our first outing was a fascinating guided nature walk with a scything demonstration (pictured above!).
There’s no commitment required—just join in when you can. New members are always welcome, so if you’re curious, come along to a meeting and see what it’s all about.
Social Activities for Male Carers
We offer regular social activities exclusively for male carers—a chance to relax, connect, and have some fun with others who understand the caring role.
🎳 Ten-Pin Bowling
We meet roughly every couple of weeks at Hollywood Bowl in Tolworth, usually around 6pm on a weekday evening. No experience or skill required—just come along and enjoy yourself! Newcomers are always welcome.
💬 Online Meetups
We also host informal online meetings where male carers can chat, share experiences, and support one another. These sessions are relaxed and friendly. If you’re new to Zoom or need help getting set up, support is available.
🏰 Group Outings
Past trips have included visits to Buckingham Palace, Hampton Court Palace, the Tower of London, and the All England Lawn Tennis Club at Wimbledon. More exciting outings are planned for the future.
🍽️ Additional Activities
We also organise ad hoc lunches, pub meetups, cooking sessions, and other events throughout the year. Suggestions for new activities are always welcome—we’d love to hear your ideas.
💬 What other male carers have said:
“a great morale booster”
“I’ve got to know other people in similar situations and gained strength from them”
“I’ve really enjoyed the friendship and camaraderie”
