Free online sensory storytelling sessions for people living with dementia and their friends, family and companions

Hampton Court Palace's autumn/winter season of free online sensory storytelling sessions for people living with dementia and their friends, family and companions starts next week. Our sessions are hosted by our wonderful presenter Jon Sleigh and we aim to make them as warm and interactive as possible.

All sessions are free to join and can be enjoyed from wherever you feel comfortable, just click on the Zoom link to join us on the day.

Spooky Stories and Historic Hauntings!

Date: Tuesday 31 October
Time: 11.00–12.30

Dare to join us on Halloween as we uncover the mysteries behind the famous phantoms at Hampton Court Palace and hear gruesome tales from the Tower of London. Who were the real people who inspired our spooky stories? To add some sensory elements you might like to gather some objects ahead of our session together: a hot drink, fruit, nuts, cake (parkin or something with ginger perhaps), knife/fork/spoon

A Christmas Story

Date: Tuesday 05 December
Time: 11.00–12.30

Open the mince pies early and join the team for a celebration of all things food from Tudor feasts to modern day turkey dinners as we warm up for the festive season together. To add some sensory elements you might like to gather some objects ahead of our session together: a hot drink (hot chocolate or Christmas spiced tea), nuts, mince pie, orange or similar.
