Tony Woods is a physiologist with degrees from King's College London (B.SC.) and St. George University of London (Ph.D).
After 11 years in research (incl. 4 years as a neuroscience lecturer) Tony spent 15 years at one of the world's largest charitable foundations- Wellcome Trust, where he became Head of Medical Humanities and Public Engagement grants.
He then spent 3 years as CEO of Genesis Research Trust (a charity based at Imperial College funding research to improve women’s and babies’ health) and returned to Wellcome to take charge of a research hub looking at perceptions of dementia.
Tony is now a programme manager at King's College London having secured over £3m in grants for arts in health interventions, as well as the senior manager for the Institute of Human and Synthetic Minds at King’s College. He has been the Chair of Kingston Carers' Network since November 2018.
When he is not working he spends most of his time with his wife and sons - standing on rugby and football touchlines or walking/running in Richmond Park. His other passion is football (Blackburn Rovers).
