Manual Handling

Friday 31st January 2025, 10.00am to 12.00pm, New Malden

Enhance your caregiving skills with our in-person Manual Handling training course, designed specifically for PAs, carers and employers. Learn safe and effective techniques to  move individuals, reducing the risk of injury for both you and those in your care. We are excited to be offering a new venue for our manual handling training, with a wide range of manual handling equipment to learn from. Join us to ensure a safer, more confident approach to manual handling tasks.

Each training day includes a free light lunch and the chance to chat with other people attending the course. The KCIL team will be on hand to give advice on the latest job opportunities, or if you’re a PA employer, further available training and support.

Kingston Care Learning Hub

RBK are pleased to announce the initial launch of the Kingston Care Learning Hub, an online gateway which now gives access to free resources such as guidance, e-learning and webinars on a range of subjects, including: 

  • Infection control – guidance, resources and a video-based e-learning course
  • Dementia – guidance and an e-learning course
  • Safeguarding adults – e-learning course, training webinars and guidance
  • Care certificate – video-based e-learning course
  • Mental Capacity Act – e-learning course, access to SCIE resources and updates on Liberty Protection Safeguards
  • More resources are coming soon.

 

How to access courses and resources on the Kingston Care Learning Hub

  1. Visit the Kingston Care Learning Hub
  2. Register or Log into the SCIE website when prompted – only takes a minute or two. When registering, please select Kingston Carers' Network as your organisation.
  3. Find a course you’d like to study (Once logged in, you can find them listed on the Kingston Care Learning Hub)
  4. We’ll need to quickly check your location to ensure you are based in the Royal Borough of Kingston. (This check only applies at time of enrolment, not when you are studying the course). If you are located outside of Kingston then the system won’t be able to verify your location and you will have to contact them directly at webteam@scie.org.uk
  5. Access the course and to study it!
